Pudong New Area delimits in the adjustment in the villages and towns administrative area, abolishes the original Zhangjiang town and Sunqiao town, establishes the new Zhangjiang town. Presently, Zhangjiang town is in the middle of Pudong New Area, east to new Tang town and new ChuanshaTown, west to Lujiazui financial trade area and Huamu administration cultural center, north to Jinqiao exportation and machining area, south to Nanhui area. The whole town area is 42.1 square kilometers, existing resident population approximately 60,000 people. In the town territory has two national levels development zone—Zhangjiang high tech park and Sunqiao modern agriculture development zone. The town government work place is Zhangjiang Road 576.
In 2005, Zhangjiang, in the correct leadership of Pudong New area committee, government, function area party committee and management committee, with the effort of all cadre and populace, surrounding “highlight Zhangjiang”, “linkage between area and town” strategy and Zhangjiang high tech as the innovation demonstration area, all work is going well. Zhangjiang town has obtained the first national civilized town and the Shanghai healthy community demonstration town and so on and realized the economical and society coordinated development. In 2005, Zhangjiang town has completed the social product value 15 billion Yuan, completed the tax revenue 850 million Yuan, and completed financial resource 255 million Yuan.
In 2006, with the main direction of Pudong integrated reformation and Zhangjiang high tech as the innovation demonstration area, with the main goal of taking the lead to realize the modernization, to speed up the advancement urbanization, with the main rhythm of making the science, technology, humanity, ecology and service, with the main accordatura of innovation, harmonious, civilization and service, strengthen the integrated strength,optimizing the whole environment and impelling the full development of Zhangjiang town. |
